The Sodhi Foundation Ignites Bright Beginnings in Antioquia
At just six years old, Thaily Castrillón stepped into the world of possibilities with The Sodhi Foundation’s educational program, joining us on November 20, 2024, after finishing preschool at IER Pablo VI in Santa Isabel, Remedios. From that moment, her journey has been a shining example of what dedication and opportunity can achieve.
Brilliant Early Progress Lights the Way
Thaily’s adventure began with a level 5A diagnosis in mathematics. Through the empowering Kumon method (a method supported by The Sodhi Foundation to enhance numerical skills in young minds), her own determination, and our unwavering support, she soared ahead — advancing three levels in just a few months. Today, she easily recognizes numerical sequences and solves addition and subtraction problems, an accomplishment that radiates far beyond her years.
Her transformation in language skills has been equally inspiring. Nurtured by our commitment to nurturing young minds, Thaily reads with a fluency and understanding that sets her apart from many in her grade. Moving from level 7A to 4A in Spanish, she not only demonstrates impressive cognitive development but also a spirited passion for learning.
A Story That Inspires Our Mission
At The Sodhi Foundation, we believe every child harbours immense potential which stands ready to flourish if given the right support. Guided by compassion and purpose, our work in rural communities opens doors to quality education, fostering futures filled with promise.
Now in her first grade, Thaily’s enthusiasm for learning is a beacon of hope — a daily reminder that with care and commitment, each stride forward nurtures a brighter tomorrow. Her story exemplifies the extraordinary impact of investing in children’s earliest years, fueling our resolve to build futures defined by dignity, equity, and endless possibility.
“Thaily shows us that with unwavering support, love, and the power of education, nothing is out of reach.”
