Our initiatives
Our philanthropic efforts are focused on driving meaningful change by promoting innovative and lasting solutions. We go beyond traditional resource allocation, working closely with leading academics, educators, and community figures. This collaborative approach allows us to develop practical, impactful responses.
Mental Health Research
We are committed to research that explores new approaches to treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD can have a debilitating impact on individuals, families and communities. The Sodhi Foundation recently donated $3 million to Yale University to establish the university’s first endowed professorship to advance research in psychedelic medicine. Over 70 million people globally currently suffer from treatment-resistant PTSD. Seratonergic psychedelics could be the key to relieving their anguish. The Sodhi Foundation is committed to supporting this promising area of medical research.
Early Childhood Education
We invest in early childhood education initiatives in Colombia and India. A strong foundation in early childhood sets the stage for lifelong success. Our initiatives focus on providing access to quality education, fostering social-emotional development, and nurturing young minds. By empowering children in these developing countries, we’re investing in a future filled with potential.
Economic Empowerment
We are deeply committed to economic empowerment in both Colombia and India. Our initiatives aim to enhance economic opportunities, providing individuals and communities with the tools and resources they need to achieve financial independence and stability. Through targeted programs and partnerships, we strive to create sustainable economic growth and improve the quality of life for those we serve.
Mental Health Research
The Sodhi Foundation is committed to advancing the understanding and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders, including PTSD and depression, through innovative research. Over 70 million people globally currently suffer from treatment-resistant PTSD. Seratonergic psychedelics could be the key to relieving their anguish. We support pioneering studies by leading researchers such as Dr. Deepak D’Souza at Yale Medical School, aiming to discover new, effective therapies that significantly improve mental and emotional well-being.
Our approach:
We fund and support studies that explore novel treatments for PTSD and depression, focusing on psychedelic medicine. This includes examining the efficacy and safety of substances like DMT, Psilocybin and Ketamine, which have shown promise in initial research. By backing these innovative studies, we aim to provide new hope for individuals who have not responded to traditional therapies.
Our foundation collaborates with leading researchers and institutions worldwide. This partnership approach ensures that we are at the forefront of scientific discovery and can facilitate the translation of research findings into practical treatments. We believe that by working together with experts in the field, we can accelerate the development of effective mental health interventions.
Recognizing that mental health is multifaceted, we support a holistic approach to treatment. This includes integrating pharmacological therapies with psychological support, lifestyle modifications, and community-based interventions. Our goal is to address the full spectrum of needs for individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders, promoting overall well-being and recovery.
Beyond research, the Sodhi Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and the potential of innovative therapies. We organize educational initiatives, seminars, and public awareness campaigns to disseminate knowledge and reduce stigma. By educating the public and healthcare providers, we hope to create a more supportive environment for those affected by mental health disorders.
Our foundation is not only focused on immediate outcomes but also on the long-term sustainability of mental health research. We invest in projects that have the potential to yield significant advancements over time, ensuring that future generations benefit from the breakthroughs made today.
The Sodhi Foundation envisions a future where advanced treatments for PTSD and depression are widely accessible and highly effective. We aim to expand our research support to include more studies on various psychedelic substances and their potential benefits. Additionally, we plan to develop comprehensive treatment programs that incorporate these new therapies, ensuring they are available to those in need.
Our ultimate goal is to transform mental health care, providing effective solutions that improve the quality of life for millions around the world. Through continuous support of groundbreaking research and a commitment to holistic care, we strive to make a lasting impact on the field of mental health.
We understand that mental health treatment must be comprehensive, combining traditional and innovative approaches. Our foundation supports integrative models that blend pharmacological treatments with therapy, mindfulness practices, and community support. This approach not only addresses the symptoms of neuropsychiatric disorders but also promotes overall well-being and resilience.
Creating a supportive network for individuals affected by PTSD and depression is a critical part of our mission. We facilitate support groups, online forums, and community events that allow individuals to connect, share experiences, and access resources. By fostering a sense of community, we aim to reduce isolation and provide continuous support to those on their mental health journey.
Education plays a vital role in transforming mental health care. The Sodhi Foundation is dedicated to educating the public, healthcare providers, and policymakers about the latest research and treatment options. Our outreach efforts include workshops, webinars, and publications that disseminate knowledge and promote informed decision-making in mental health care.
While our primary focus is on research and education, we also aim to make a global impact by advocating for policies that support mental health research and treatment. We work with international organizations to promote mental health awareness and ensure that innovative treatments are accessible to people worldwide, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status.

Early Childhood Education
We believe that every child deserves access to a quality education. That’s why we focus on early childhood education programs in underserved and remote communities in Colombia and India, where access to quality education is often limited. By providing these young minds with nurturing environments and the foundational skills they need to thrive, we empower them to reach their full potential and become positive contributors to their societies.
Our commitment to early childhood education:
In many remote areas of Colombia and India, children face significant barriers to accessing quality education, including poverty, lack of infrastructure, and limited availability of trained teachers. We work to bridge this gap by establishing educational programs that are tailored to the specific needs of these communities.
A safe and supportive learning environment is crucial for the development of young children. Our programs focus on creating such environments, where children can explore, learn, and grow without fear. We provide resources and training for local educators to ensure that classrooms are engaging and conducive to learning.
Early childhood is a critical period for cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our curriculum emphasizes foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. By equipping children with these essential skills, we lay the groundwork for their future academic and personal success.
Engaging families and communities in the educational process is key to the sustainability of our programs. We work closely with parents, local leaders, and community organizations to foster a culture of learning and to ensure that educational initiatives are well-supported and integrated into the community.
To measure the impact of our programs and continually improve our approach, we implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks. This helps us to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that our initiatives are effectively meeting the needs of the children and communities we serve.
Our vision is to expand our early childhood education programs to more communities in Colombia and India, and eventually to other countries facing similar challenges. By continuing to invest in the education of young children, we aim to create a ripple effect that will benefit generations to come.

Empowering Communities, Building Sustainable Futures
The Sodhi Foundation is deeply committed to fostering economic empowerment in both India and Colombia through a variety of initiatives that aim to create sustainable economic growth and improve the quality of life for individuals and communities.
In Colombia, the foundation has implemented several impactful programs.
One significant project is the beekeeping training program. This program provides comprehensive training in beekeeping techniques, enabling participants to start their own beekeeping businesses. The project in Remedios has been particularly successful, with participants producing high-quality honey, creating a new source of income, and fostering entrepreneurship in the community.
Another major initiative in Colombia is the creative industries program, which includes candle-making workshops in Segovia. These workshops teach participants the art of candle making, providing them with the skills to start their own businesses. The final workshop of 2023 was a resounding success, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm and the potential for sustainable income generation through artisanal crafts.
Additionally, the reforestation project in Segovia promotes environmental sustainability and provides economic opportunities for the local community. By involving residents in tree planting and maintenance, the foundation creates jobs and supports the development of green businesses. This initiative is part of a broader effort to integrate environmental conservation with economic development, ensuring that community members benefit from sustainable practices.
In India, the Sodhi Foundation’s economic empowerment efforts are equally diverse and impactful.
The Silai Skill Centre initiative is a standout program that empowers women by teaching them sewing and tailoring skills. These skills enable women to become self-sufficient, earn a stable income, and contribute significantly to their families and communities. The initiative not only provides vocational training but also supports women in setting up their own tailoring businesses, promoting entrepreneurship and economic independence.
The sustainable agriculture initiative is another crucial program in India. This initiative educates farmers on sustainable farming practices, helping them improve crop yields and maintain soil health. By adopting these practices, farmers can increase their income and ensure long-term agricultural sustainability.
