About Us
Our History
The Sodhi Foundation was established in 2014 by Vikram Sodhi. Over the past decade, the Foundation has developed programs in Colombia and India across three areas: mental health research, early childhood education, and economic empowerment.
In mental health, the Foundation’s work gained international recognition with the endowment of the inaugural Vikram Sodhi ’92 Professorship of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. In 2026, Vikram Sodhi extended the Foundation’s commitment to innovation with the inauguration of the Vikram Sodhi Centre of Excellence for AI-Enabled Geological & Mining Systems at IIT Kharagpur, India.
In Colombia, the Foundation operates through its subsidiary Fundación Quintana, which runs community programs in the northeast of Antioquia.
Our Mission
The Sodhi Foundation supports scientific research into new treatments for neuropsychiatric disorders, and funds educational and economic programs in underserved communities in Colombia and India.
In mental health, the Foundation funds peer-reviewed research into the therapeutic potential of psychedelic compounds for conditions such as PTSD and depression, in collaboration with leading academic institutions, including Yale School of Medicine.
In education, the Foundation supports early childhood programs in rural communities in Colombia and India, with the goal of reducing educational disparities and giving children the foundational skills they need to thrive.
In economic empowerment, the Foundation funds vocational training and sustainable livelihood programs for women and young people in underserved areas.
Our mission is holistic, targeting both mental health and education, as we understand that well-being and knowledge are interconnected. We support comprehensive approaches that consider the individual’s mental, emotional, and educational needs, ensuring a brighter and more equitable future for all.
Our Vision
We aspire to a world where research-based treatments for neuropsychiatric disorders are accessible to all who need them — and where every child, regardless of origin or socioeconomic circumstance, has access to a quality education that allows them to reach their full potential.
We believe that mental health and education are the foundation of human development. That is why we work to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, advance scientifically validated treatments, and ensure that no child’s future is limited by the circumstances of their birth.
Our vision is one of healthier, better-educated, and more resilient communities — in Colombia, in India, and beyond.
