The Return of the Jaguar to Segovia: A Milestone for Conservation

In the forests of El Pescado village, located in the municipality of Segovia (Antioquia), one of our camera traps captured the presence of a jaguar (Panthera onca) in its natural habitat. This sighting validates the technical and community-based approach of the participatory wildlife monitoring program we are implementing in collaboration with the Fundación Alianza Natural Colombia. The presence of the jaguar is a strong indicator that the ecosystem is functioning properly, as it requires large, well-preserved territories to survive.

A Conservation Model Grounded in Science and Community

This achievement is the result of the ongoing work of biodiversity experts, financially supported by the Foundation. Thanks to the installation of sensors and field data analysis, the technical team is able to monitor key species and make informed decisions. Moreover, the program actively involves the local community through workshops and environmental education processes, strengthening territorial knowledge and fostering shared responsibility in its protection.

Sustainability with an ESG Approach

This project is part of our sustainability strategy with an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) focus, integrating positive environmental impact, social inclusion, and responsible management. Through it, we reaffirm our commitment to biodiversity protection and to the development of initiatives that ensure ecosystem preservation for present and future generations.
