The Impact of the Sodhi Foundation in Rural Classrooms: Santiago’s Story and His Educational Breakthrough

At The Sodhi Foundation, we firmly believe that every child holds a universe of possibilities. This belief drives our work in the field, where we accompany children in their educational journey with dedication, care, and a long-term vision.

One of these children is Santiago, who joined our educational program on February 12, 2024, at just 7 years old, while attending first grade at IER Pablo VI, in the rural district of Santa Isabel, Remedios. From the beginning, we knew his path would present challenges—but also remarkable opportunities for growth.

Progress Fueled by Support, Tools, and Care

Santiago began his journey needing support in number sequencing. But with consistent guidance, motivation, and the implementation of the Kumon method, he advanced seven levels in mathematics in just a few months. Now in second grade, he is already tackling third-grade content. He moved from an initial 6A diagnosis to a strong level C—a significant leap that reflects effort, encouragement, and skill.

In language, his progress is equally remarkable. Santiago went from early literacy steps to reading fluently with expression and comprehension that makes us proud. From a 7A level, he reached AII—unlocking new pathways to knowledge and critical thinking.

Purposeful Education: Changing Lives from the Ground Up

Stories like Santiago’s inspire us to continue investing in meaningful education that sees each child as a whole person with immense potential. At The Sodhi Foundation, we are committed to building safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments where every achievement is a shared success.

We will keep supporting Santiago and many others like him, helping them dream of—and work toward—a better future. Because when we believe in our children, their world transforms… and so does ours.
