Reviving the Past Through Sensory Engagement: The Impact of the Life Memories Program

Sodhi Foundation Promotes Intergenerational Connection in Colombia

Through its affiliate Fundación Quintana, the Sodhi Foundation continues to strengthen the social fabric in rural communities across Colombia with its Life Memories Program. The recent success of Workshop #3, titled “Returning Home Through the Senses,” reflects the foundation’s deep commitment to the well-being and appreciation of the elderly.

A Sensory Workshop in the Village of El Aporriado (Segovia – Antioquia)

Held in the village of El Aporriado, the workshop brought together elderly residents from both El Aporriado (Segovia) and La Cianurada (Remedios). The activity centered on the use of sensory stimuli to evoke memories of rural childhoods, fostering a reconnection with the past and the activation of meaningful emotions.

Promoting the Well-Being and Dignity of the Elderly

This initiative underscores the Sodhi Foundation’s strategic approach to fostering social well-being and acknowledging the intrinsic value and dignity of the elderly. By creating safe and supportive spaces for emotional expression and recognition of their life stories, the foundation strengthens their role as vital bearers of history and wisdom.

The Sodhi Foundation’s Commitment to Holistic Community Development

The Sodhi Foundation reaffirms its dedication to the holistic development of communities through initiatives that recognize and elevate their most experienced members. The Life Memories Program stands as a meaningful example of the foundation’s positive contribution to quality of life and the preservation of cultural heritage.
