Boosting Childhood Self-Esteem Through Play and Emotional Expression
Sodhi Foundation Champions Emotional Education in Early Childhood
Through its Colombian subsidiary, Fundación Quintana, Sodhi Foundation advances its mission of promoting holistic child development by implementing educational programs focused on emotional well-being. Recently, at the Centro Aprendizaje del Nordeste in Santa Isabel – Remedios, the workshop “Self-Confidence” was held for young children.
A Play-Based Approach to Emotional Growth
The workshop incorporated innovative methodologies such as play pedagogy, therapeutic theater, puppet shows, and dramatic techniques. These tools creatively addressed key aspects of emotional education in children, including fear, self-acceptance, mistakes, and emotional validation.
Recognizing Emotions to Grow
Through the symbolic character “Margarita,” children engaged with their own emotions and vulnerabilities, discovering that trusting oneself is an essential part of growing and transforming their world. These activities strengthen self-esteem in childhood and lay the foundation for long-term emotional well-being.
Dedicated to the Well-Being of Children
This educational initiative reflects the comprehensive approachpromoted by Sodhi Foundation, where education encompasses not only academic learning but also emotional and social dimensions. Our goal is to foster nurturing, safe, and creative environments that support full development in early childhood.
