Guitamboreros is an educational program by the Sodhi Foundation, currently enrolling 45 children. Located in the Marmajón village, within the jurisdictions of Remedios and Segovia, the program focuses on the artistic and cultural development of children, providing a comprehensive education across various artistic disciplines.

The teaching team at Guitamboreros consists of five specialists in different areas: visual arts, body expression, flute, guitar, and percussion. Each instructor brings their expertise and knowledge to enrich the students’ learning experience, fostering their creativity and artistic skills.

On Saturday, June 22, the Guitamboreros dance group performed at an event organized by the Remedios municipality to celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for the elderly. This occasion allowed the group to showcase the progress they have made since March. The performance featured a rhythmic-motor revue where the children expressed their movements using two-colored gloves to add dynamic flair to the choreography. The accompanying music was played by teachers Carlos Mario Fernández and Carlos Alberto Rojo Márquez, who performed on the drum and flute.

The program aims not only to develop the artistic talents of the children but also to contribute to their personal and social growth, providing them with tools to express their emotions and thoughts through art. In Guitamboreros, education goes beyond academics, promoting values and skills that will be fundamental in their future lives.
